Ken Gelman
Director of Accounting & Compliance

Ken Gelman is a finance compliance officer at R.A.L. Companies and Affiliates and The Spandrel Group, where his responsibilities include accounting and operational oversight for each operating company within the R.A.L. and Spandrel Group network.

Ken joined R.A.L. in 2004 after spending eight years as vice president at The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., where he was in charge of equipment purchasing and maintenance. Prior to that, he worked at Victory Markets and was responsible for the maintenance of all company stores and facilities as well as oversight of Lottery, WIC, and Food Stamp licensing, among other administrative duties.
 
Earlier in his career, Ken spent 25 years at Waldbaum Supermarkets on Long Island. He was director of accounting administration in 1986 when the company was sold to The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co., where Ken was first retained to oversee the conversion of information and accounting records and then named him director of facilities.
 
Ken earned a bachelor degree from Farleigh Dickinson University. He is a licensed instrument private pilot and served in the New Jersey National Guard until he was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
